Richmond, Canada – August 5, 2025 — The press conference for the “ENJOY AI 2025 Canada Championship,” hosted by the Federation of Global Youth in AI (FGYAI), was held today at Richmond City Hall. Leaders from the fields of technology, education, media, and government gathered to explore how artificial intelligence can empower future education, spark youth creativity, and connect to a global vision.

At the event, FGYAI officially unveiled the tournament agenda and highlights. The ENJOY AI 2025 Canada Championship will take place on October 5, 2025, in Richmond. The competition focuses on AI and robotics education and is open to youth aged 5 to 17 from around the world. It aims to create a premier international AI event that integrates technology, education, and cultural exchange.

Chak Au, Member of Parliament, and Malcolm Brodie, Mayor of Richmond, attended the event and delivered remarks, expressing strong support for the initiative. MP Au emphasized the strategic importance of youth AI education for the nation's future, while Mayor Brodie reiterated Richmond’s commitment to supporting FGYAI's AI education programs locally. Both praised FGYAI's continued efforts to enhance youth technological literacy and expressed high expectations for the event to inspire more youth to explore innovation and STEM.

Also speaking at the conference was Michael Yao, RoboCup World Champion Mentor and Chief Technical Advisor of FGYAI, who shared insights into the training strategies that led Team Canada to victory, and his vision for empowering more students through world-class AI education.

Venus Qiu, Director of the Youth Committee of the Chinese Entrepreneurs Society of Canada, emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration in nurturing young tech talent and creating real-world innovation opportunities.

Shimei Jiang, Founding Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the Zhejiang University Alumni Association of Canada, highlighted the role of alumni networks in supporting youth entrepreneurship in the AI era.

Amida Han, President of FGYAI in New Zealand, shared how FGYAI’s global outreach is fostering international AI education exchange and opportunities for young learners across regions.

To help participants prepare, the organizing committee will launch the ENJOY AI Bootcamp on August 8. This intensive pre-tournament training program will be led by the RoboCup World Champion coaching team, offering structured, hands-on training to help students sharpen their skills and compete at the highest level.

A major highlight shared during the conference was Team Canada’s historic victory at the 2025 RoboCup World Championship in Brazil. The national team—formed by FGYAI members—won the world title with their self-developed intelligent algorithms and exceptional teamwork. This remarkable achievement showcases Canada’s world-class capabilities in AI education and sets a powerful example for aspiring youth innovators.

Even more exciting, the lead coach of the champion team has officially joined Merit Education and will launch an elite “RoboCup Masterclass” this fall. The course will be open to young learners passionate about AI and robotics, with the goal of cultivating the next generation of AI innovators and helping more youth reach the global stage.

“We’re not just hosting a world-class competition—we’re building a sustainable and scalable AI education ecosystem,” a spokesperson from FGYAI stated. “By using competitions to spark interest and aligning with a robust education framework, we aim to embed AI learning at the core of youth development.”

The press conference concluded with enthusiastic discussions and a shared commitment to the future. FGYAI calls on all sectors of society to support youth AI education and contribute to the long-term growth of Canada’s innovation and technology leadership.
